Who is Behind InFRE?
InFRE began in 1997 because of the joint commitment, vision and efforts of the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA), the Texas Tech Center for Financial Responsibility (CFR), the National Pension Education Association (NPEA), and John D. Davenport, to increase the retirement preparedness of the American worker.
NAGDCA is the country’s leading organization of defined contribution retirement plan administrators and financial service providers. It represents nearly every state deferred compensation plan, as well as numerous other governmental and public sector defined contribution plans, and over 150 companies in the financial services industry. Its mission is to focus on retirement planning for public sector employees participating in 457(b), 403(b), 401(a) and 401(k) retirement plans.
The CRC® study materials were developed over a two-year period in accordance with the academic guidance of the Texas Tech University Center for Financial Responsibility. Texas Tech is recognized as one of the leading academic institutions focusing on the development of financial planners and financial planning thought leaders via their undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. The Center for Financial Responsibility is committed to expand research efforts and educational outreach to enhance the financial well-being of individuals and families.
NPEA educates public defined benefit retirement system professionals and encourages the ongoing exchange of information, ideas, goals and objectives of retirement planning and communication with members.
Together, the members of NAGDCA and the NPEA manage and administer more than 150 retirement plans for over 10 million American workers.
