To maintain active status, CRC® Certificants must complete the following requirements annually:
- Report 15 hours of continuing education (CE) credits. At least two hours of ethics CE must be submitted every two years.
- Submit a signed Certificate Holder’s Statement (CHS) agreeing to adhere to InFRE’s professional Code of Ethics.
- Pay a renewal fee of $150.
Annually. You will receive a renewal reminder notification prior to your renewal due date for the month of March, June, September or December
15 hours. Up to 15 hours can be carried over to the next renewal period. At least two hours of ethics CE must be submitted every two years.
InFRE offers continuing education (CE) courses on a variety of retirement and financial planning topics. Click here to see our CE options. Also, InFRE accepts CE courses from a variety of sources and providers. In fact, CE completed for your state insurance license, or another certification may qualify for credit for your CRC® renewal.
New entries will show pending until an InFRE representative is able to review your CE courses during the renewal process.
Yes. Two hours of ethics is due every two years. InFRE ethics courses can be found here.
At the end of month during March, June, September or December. You will receive a renewal notification reminder email prior to your renewal due date.
A $25 late fee will be added when paying the renewal fee 15 days or more past your renewal date.
If, after 60 days from the Certificant’s renewal date, a Certificant has not fulfilled all of their renewal requirements, they will be placed on inactive status and may not use their CRC® certification marks. Inactive Certificants will be allowed to remain on inactive status for a period of time not to exceed three years from their inactivation date.

If a Certificant does not complete the necessary renewal requirements within three years from their inactivation date, their certification will be relinquished, and they will need to retest to reinstate their certification.
Your CRC® ID number is included in your renewal notification email.
